Blindness is one of the leading health problems in rural India. The free hospital of the Adhiparasakthi Trust holds a free eye camp every year around the time of Amma's birthday where they provide free screening for eye disease and followup surgery at no charge. Operations are performed by leading eye surgeons from the area and the patients receive free eye glasses as well as food and drink.
