Whatever you do must be good.
Seek goodness and safeguard good in the world.

If you learn to control the five senses then the five elements of nature will listen to you.

There is no benefit from your outward appearance.
Your inner appearance brings its own spiritual rewards.

Don't think in terms of prestige, prosperity and money.
Money brings sin and property brings worry so don't desperately seek for money and property.

No matter how deep you dig a well, only rain can fill it with water.
You can get together with your prayer group any number of times but you should also visit me at the temple.

Man is jealous even of his own brother.
He wants to defeat him even if he has to sell his own property.
To gain peace on this earth, one has to destroy jealousy.

Peace of mind does not come when your life is calculative.
If one has control over the senses, peace of mind is blessed on the person.

If you are greedy for one rupee (dollar), you may have to waste a hundred rupees (dollars).
Hard earned money by legal means will always stay with you.

Only when a person is good can he command ten others.

Moisture is needed for the paddy to grow.
Purity of mind is needed for progress.

Earn your living a righteous way, spend such money to promote spiritualism.
This path is more difficult than observing religious austerities, but it is nobler.

Involving oneself in spiritualism and donating to good causes makes one's wealth blossom with fragrance.
Otherwise, even the money is as useless as a dead man.

Spiritualism is power and power is spiritualism.
The waves around the ocean are noisy and turbulent while the mid sea is calm.
The turbulent waves of emotions around one's life should be discarded to achieve absolute peace.

Birth and death come and go.
One may know the time of birth but the time of death is known to no one.
To attain a peaceful death one should do "Dharma".

The giving of alms contributes to the fullness of life.
Only through charity can one earn the good fortune of marriage, i.e. longevity, health, children, happiness, prosperity, etc., the sixteen aspects of wealth for one's husband.

A mountain is not affected by a dog's bark.
A good man with good deeds is not affected by anything bad.

* * *

If you stand in front of a mirror only your reflection is seen and not your inner self.
Good deeds reveal your inner self.

Good thoughts are a good foundation for your heart.
Every action should be realised by the heart.

Do not allow waste to accumulate.
Similarly, do not allow bad thoughts to accumulate.
Get rid of them day to day.

Control your five senses and keep your mind as open as an empty vessel
so that I can fill it with the water of my mercy.

The ocean waves are contained by the seashore.
Likewise man's spiritual thoughts are not realised because they get caught up in family, debt, love.

Stay in a job. Seek income or wealth in the fair way.
Then spend that wealth for spiritual progress.
Show your skills in this way.
This is harder to do then ascetism and meditiation but it is also better.

As the soolam (trident) has three parts.
Our life also has three parts.
What are they?
They are birth, death and forgivenness.
Doing service just for money is equal to death.
The service that you do with devotion is true service.

You make water out of ice but that may not be good for your body.
Likewise you can earn wealth through evil methods.
That kind of wealth is not good for you.
